For 50 years, Gore has provided diverse, high-performance solutions in consumer, industrial, electronic and medical markets. Gore is a leader in technically advanced filtration systems that meet the most stringent emissions regulations. Gore`s offering includes high-performance filter bags, cartridges and membranes for air and liquid filtration along with Gore’s hands-on technical expertise. The GORE™ REMEDIA® Catalytic Filtration System, which converts dangerous dioxin and furan gases from incinerators and cement kilns into harmless components, is the simplest and most cost-effective way to meet dioxin regulations. When contaminants lie underground, GORE® Surveys provide the most accurate, comprehensive and established method of measuring soil gases, the telltale signs of volatile compounds in the ground. The GORE™ Cover System is a technology for organic waste treatment that accelerates the composting process while minimizing odors and preventing the transmission of bacteria to the air.

About Gore

At W. L. Gore & Associates, our products are designed to be the highest quality in their class and revolutionary in their effect. We resolutely live up to our product promises, and our associates address technical challenges with innovative, reliable solutions.

The company began in 1958, when Bill and Vieve Gore set out to explore opportunities for fluorocarbon polymers, especially polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Within the first twelve years, Gore had wire and cables on the moon and operations worldwide.

Today, our enterprise is comprised of approximately 8,000 associates in more than 45 locations around the world. Annual revenues top $2 billion. Our fluoropolymer products provide innovative solutions throughout industry, in next-generation electronics, for medical products, and with high-performance fabrics. We've repeatedly been named among the '100 Best Companies to Work for in America,' by FORTUNE magazine, and our culture is a model for contemporary organizations seeking growth by unleashing creativity and fostering team-work.

While we may be best known for our GORE-TEX® fabrics, all our products are distinguished in their markets. Our technologies and fluoropolymer expertise are unsurpassed.

We create next-generation cable assemblies and components for the electronics industry, set the standard for outerwear comfort and protection, solve difficult industrial problems with innovative materials and technology, and Gore medical products work in harmony with the body's own tissues to restore normal body function.

We take our reputation for product leadership seriously, continually delivering new products and better solutions to the marketplaces of the world.

The PTFE Story

One remarkably versatile polymer, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), lies at the heart of Gore's innovative products.

Bob Gore, now the chairman of the company's board of directors, discovered that rapidly stretching PTFE under the right conditions created a very strong, microporous material. The result, known as GORE™ expanded PTFE (ePTFE), exhibits an amazing array of properties:

  • Strength (high strength-to-weight ratio)
  • Chemical inertness
  • Biocompatibility
  • High thermal resistance
  • High chemical resistance in harsh environments
  • Low flammability
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Low dielectric constant
  • Low water adsorption
  • Good weathering properties

Gore is the world leader in understanding and engineering PTFE, expanded PTFE, and PTFE composites into thousands of varied products.

FEATURED SERVICES

GORE Surveys – Sampling Air, Soil, and Water

The GORE Survey relies on the GORE Module, a patented, passive sampler. The Module is constructed of a GORE-TEX® membrane tube, a chemically-inert, waterproof, yet vapor-permeable membrane, which houses engineered sorbents. Target compounds present in air or soil gas, migrate unimpeded through the tube to the sorbents. When placed in water, dissolved compounds partition to vapor across the membrane and are captured by the sorbent. The GORE Module can be deployed in virtually any site setting including unsaturated and saturated, coarse- to ...

Petroleum Exploration

Gore can generate geochemical images (maps) of the gas, condensate or oil hydrocarbons charging your prospective acreage whether located onshore or offshore. The GORE™ Survey for Exploration has been used effectively for 15 years in over 50 countries around the world, 100 basins with reservoirs as deep as 25,000 feet and buried below 1000`s of feet of volcanic rock or anhydrite. Apply this technique in environments ranging from frozen trundra in Russia and Canada to boiling deserts in Egypt and Libya and elsewhere including tropical jungles, ...
