This study examines the effects of exergy efficiencies for three different cooling systems used commonly in commercial applications like hypermarkets. Additionally, environmental effects depending on the Total Equivalent Warming Impact (TEWI) in each system are calculated. In the analysis, considered under constant load, R22, R502, R134a, R404a and R507 refrigerants, and R407 and R410 alternative refrigerants are studied. The results show that R410 and R134a gases have the highest exergy efficiency and R407C gas has the least CO
emissions. The study finally explains the reasons for the priority of exergy and TEWI parameters in the systems.
