At ADS LLCWe design and manufacture flow measurement equipment and software as well as line stopping equipment. We provide field inspection and field services for flow monitoring and Sewer System Evaluation Surveys (SSES). With three divisions, ADS Environmental Services, Hydra-Stop, and Accusonic Technologies, ADS LLC has conducted over 5000 flow measurement projects in our 31-year history and we provide products and services to customers in over 40 countries.
ADS Environmental Services provides industry leading innovations in acoustic Doppler technologies, analytical software and real-time, Web-hosted reporting for the wastewater collection system industry. This division operates through more than 20 offices in the U.S. and Australia. ADS customers rely on the accuracy of ADS flow monitoring, field and reporting services to support growth, billing, rehabilitation, budgeting, hydraulic modeling, operations and maintenance and design/build programs.
Accusonic Technologies pioneered the development of multiple, parallel path transit time monitors valued for extreme accuracy in the hydroelectric and water transport industries. In the western U.S., Accusonic is the technology of choice for the majority of hydroelectric power generation facilities such as Hoover Dam and Grand Coulee Dam. Accusonic is represented across the globe in more than eighteen countries.
Both divisions offer superior field service to support after-sale performance. Our manufacturing and field services are guided by ISO9001 quality assurance programs to maximize customer satisfaction. ADS is determined to earn customer loyalty. Loyalty begins with understanding key business decisions driving infrastructure renewal. As we commit ourselves to customer loyalty, we deliver the flow equipment, service and information our clients require to make those essential decisions.
At ADS, we offer comprehensive, innovative flow information, from real-time flow data to temporary flow monitoring reports. Drawing upon three decades of experience from over 4,500 flow assessment projects, we tailor our product recommendations to meet your most challenging projects and provide the right level of services to match your budget and resources.
For knowledge about the performance of your collection system, you can rely on our comprehensive array of software products to deliver information of the highest quality. From flow monitors, software, field services and data processing to Web-based information and statistical reporting, ADS products will deliver the right information at an affordable cost.
For over three decades, ADS has been a pioneer in developing products and services for collection system assessment. Our innovations continue today to help customers improve the management and operation of their wastewater systems. The accuracy of ADS' monitoring data saves millions of dollars for customers as engineers apply flow intelligence to right-sizing infrastructure improvements and avoid unnecessary capital projects.
'We have had a long term commitment with ADS and they have always been very responsive and forward thinking. They put a lot of time and thought into customer care and customer service. Price is also very important to us and we have been pleased to see ADS keep their pricing competitive.' John Day, Project Engineer, City of Las Vegas
Clients can choose from a broad spectrum of ADS products and services, all focused on the same goal: analyzing the performance of the collection system. Our FlowView™ performance monitoring software programs include the following products and services:
ADS can supplement flow monitoring programs with a variety of optional services in support of both an owner's in-house flow program or consulting engineer's project work. These supplementary services include:
Peter Petroff established ADS Environmental Services in 1975 after a career with NASA as a lunar guidance system engineer under Dr. Von Braun. From his garage in Huntsville, Mr. Petroff applied his space technology expertise to measuring municipal collection system flows. The result was the introduction of Doppler flow monitoring which Petroff grew into a thriving business by the 1980s. In that decade, ADS flow-monitoring networks had been established in a number of cities throughout the U.S.
The installation of over 400 monitors networked to a central computer in Sydney, Australia in 1990, was an important milestone in the Company’s history. The industry took note of the expertise required to deploy Sydney's sophisticated network.
Throughout the '90s, ADS continued to reinvest in products and services that advanced the use of flow information for client’s management needs. That activity included the acquisition of Accusonic Technologies, a Falmouth, Massachusetts-based manufacturer of multi-path, transit time flow meters. The addition of transit time to the ADS Doppler technology base, not only strengthened product development initiatives and improved Accusonic’s international presence, but it has also opened new growth opportunities for measurement in water, hydroelectric, canals and wastewater markets.
Innovation continues to be a cornerstone for the company. ADS customer's are now using Web-accessible software to capture flow information in real time. Coupled with real-time information, dynamic software recognizes flow pattern changes to alert collection system owners to much earlier detection of poorly performing areas of their system. Our customers benefit through reduced costs and quicker response to potential environmental hazards.
Along the way, ADS has amassed over 40 national and international patents for wastewater measurement technologies. Office expansion has paralleled the growth of patent activity. ADS has blossomed from a small operation in 1975 to over 20 offices in the U.S. and Australia and a network of distributors reaching over 40 countries worldwide.

Insta-DamMajor service disruptions and shutdowns of critical water, wastewater, and gas distribution systems for general maintenance and repair can now be eliminated with Hydra-Stop's new Insta-Dam Line Stopping System. Conventional repair methods are time consuming and costly, often shutting down entire buildings or facilities. The Insta-Dam System requires one-third the time of methods such as pipe freezing, eliminating the need for system shutdowns. |

Capacity AnalysisCollection system capacity will continue to be of paramount importance to municipalities. Increasing population growth, peak wet weather infiltration/inflow and pipeline deterioration all affect the ability of the collection system to properly transport wastewater flow. Inadequate capacity results in Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) across the country with subsequent Federal and State regulatory actions. |

Dye Water FloodingUsually performed in conjunction with internal TV inspections. Dye Water Flooding aides in the location and quantification of specific defects during an evaluation. The procedure consists of forcing non-toxic dye into defects located during smoke testing and manhole inspection. The path of the dye is then documented, and leaks in the sewer lines are located. Manholes with evidence of inflow/infiltration, mainline defects, cross-connections, roof ... |
