Sustainability

Sustainability

At E & E, sustainability is all around us. From the solar panels on the roof of our headquarters building to the employee ridesharing program introduced in 1973, sustainability is the culture in which we live, work, and conduct business; it extends from our local neighborhoods to the global community.

Forty years of forward thinking and an unwavering commitment to integrating the principles of social and environmental accountability have positioned E & E as a recognized global leader in environmental management.

We are proud to practice what we preach. E & E encourages a culture of energy, water and waste reduction. We provide financial incentives to employees who carpool, we follow sustainable guidelines in our purchasing practices, and we recycle or compost more waste at our headquarters than we put into the landfill. We employ state-of-the-art communications technology wherever possible to reduce paper use and travel. These practices have led to measurable results, both in our environmental impact and our bottom line.

History and Future

History and Future

Looking Back.

In 1970, Gerhard Neumaier, Frank Silvestro, Gerry Strobel and Ron Frank shared a vision and a commitment to establishing a firm that would provide environmental solutions in a holistic, multidisciplinary manner. Through social and political turmoil, oil embargoes, environmental disasters, and eight different White House administrations, E & E has never wavered from its founders’ guiding principles: integrity, communication, hard work, professionalism, and a commitment to provide innovative solutions that foster global sustainability. Today those principles continue to motivate our founders and the over 1,100 dedicated environmental professionals who are part of the E & E family.

E & E has done great things over the past forty years for our clients and our planet. The work has been exciting, intellectually challenging, and often groundbreaking.

Moving Forward.

Our founders were ahead of their time forty years ago. Departing from the mainstream beliefs of the time, they knew that the sustainability of the human race was linked to environmental sustainability. And they acted accordingly.

Our vision for the 21st century is to remain ahead of the curve. We will continue our long tradition of leadership in implementing environmentally sustainable practices, both within our company and in the services we provide to other companies. By carefully incorporating ecological, social, and economic considerations into our business planning and decision-making processes, we will strive to balance the interests of the present with those of future generations - forty years from now and beyond.
