ERG has been supplying chemical scrubbers for odour control since 1978, and has installed more than 50 systems throughout the UK in the last 10 years. We have treated air flowrates from less than 1,000 up to 200,000 m3/hr.

Bioscrubber Packages

Used as a stand-alone package, or in combination as part of a DryCat system, ERG's biofilter provides trouble-free odour control for small to medium sized sewage treatment plants.

ERG - Dry Media Filters

In partnership with our carbon and dry media framework suppliers, ERG offers a comprehensive range of activated carbon, impregnated carbon, oxidising alumina media, and hybrid, multi-media filters. For the Middle East market we also offer in situ water and chemically regenerable carbon.

DryCat - System for Odour Control

ERG's designers can match the air extraction rate and odour loading of each part of a sewage treatment plant to the odour control required for that area. Combining the basic building blocks of CIFs (catalytic iron filters), biofilters/bioscrubbers and dry media filters, and using intelligent design to look at the site as a whole, ERG's DryCat system is an optimised odour control solution for small and medium sized sites.

V-tex - Scrubbing Technology

V-tex - Gas Scrubbing

V-tex is an outstanding scrubbing and stripping technology, providing users with a highly efficient scrubbing/stripping unit operation, in a fraction of the height of a traditional packed tower. And thanks to the opposed-jet spray nozzle at the heart of the technology, V-tex offers flexible, robust operability and unrivalled, maintenance-free availability, across a wide variety of applications.

V-tex - Scrubbing

V-tex technology is an innovative and patented method of scrubbing contamination. V-tex scrubbers are designed specifically to suit the particular application and duty. Gas flows treated by V-tex technology typically vary from 5m3/hr to 20,000m3/hr and from single stage to multiple stage units depending on the contamination removal efficiency requirement.

V-tex - Steam and Air Stripping

V-tex strippers achieve higher removal efficiencies than traditional technologies without moving parts or random packings which are prone to fouling. V-tex is used for the stripping of liquors across a range of sectors including pharmaceutical, petrochemical, fine chemical and oil and gas industries.

V-tex - Pilot Plants

ERG has a number of pilot plants which are available to conduct V-tex trials for gas scrubbing, liquor stripping and gas/steam condensing applications. Often the V-tex pilot plants are used in a combination with other ERG pilot plants such as packed tower scrubbers and carbon filters.

V-tex - Syngas & Biogas Cleaning

Whether the requirement is for cleaning tars from biogases generated from a hot gasification process, or sulphurous compounds or VOCs from biofuels generated from an anerobic digestion process, V-tex can be the solution.

Thermal Systems

ERG - Thermal Oxidisers

Thermal oxidation is a well-accepted method of treatment of exhaust gas containing volatile organic compounds. Thermal oxidation can also be very effective in treating liquid waste streams.

ERG - Toxic Waste & VOC Destruction Systems

Thermal oxidation is an excellent method of destroying toxic and unwanted chemicals, and converting them into benign and harmless compounds. This is particularly applicable where the toxic materials are organic and is a more environmentally benign disposal method than landfill. The process can be combined with energy recovery techniques to minimise operating costs.

ERG - Solid Waste Incineration Systems

ERG offers a range of dual chamber solid waste incinerators for the efficient disposal of solid waste streams. Dual chamber incinerators operate by incinerating the solid materials in a primary chamber and then incinerating any remaining material and the gases for a second time in the secondary chamber. The unit is of the 'Controlled or Starved Air' type where a small percentage of the stoichiometric air requirement is introduced in the primary...

ERG - Precious Metal Recovery Systems

The ERG range of precious metal recovery incinerators are similar in concept to solid waste incinerators and are designed to burn various waste materials in a two stage process with minimum fuel usage. Precious metals remaining in the slag after incineration (typically gold, silver, platinum or palladium) are collected on removable ceramic dishes housed within the primary combustion chamber.

ERG - Energy Recovery from Waste Systems

Recovering energy from waste is a great way to address the problem of how to dispose of waste which cannot be recycled of composted, whilst at the same time reducing operating costs. Despite recent oil price trends, energy continues to be a significant input for industry. It is almost a certainty that the cost of waste disposal will continue to rise significantly in future years, thereby increasing the economic viability of projects that burn waste...

ERG - Thermal Fluid Heaters Systems

Thermal fluid heaters use a liquid medium to transfer heat energy into a process through a closed loop system. Through use of thermal oils or glycols higher operating temperatures can be safely achieved than is practical with steam systems, making thermal heaters easier than common steam systems to operate and maintain.

BiogasClean - Model MUW (Make-Up-Water) - Biological Scaling Control

In many projects treated water from the anaerobic digester is used as scrubber liquid and nutrient source as this gives ultra-low operating costs. In order to prevent scaling and clogging inside the scrubber tank the waste water is first pre-treated with sulfate from the biological process in MUW (Make-Up-Water) tanks. The calcium and magnesium reacts with the sulfate and settle in the MUW tanks before the treated water is pumped into the scrubber...

BioGasClean - Model QSR - Quick Sludge Removal System

BiogasCleaners with on-site tanks and FRP tanks are constructed with the QSR - Quick Sludge Removal - system. During QSR cleaning the tank is filled with water and pressurized air is injected in the bottom of the tank so the packing media is washed like in a big washing machine. The QSR system makes it possible to clean the tank for sulfur and gypsum sludge without emptying the tank for packing media. It is a unique assurance against revenue loss from...

BiogasChiller - Biological Removal of H2S

After H2S removal the gas is fully saturated with water; the relative humidity (RH) is 100%. If water droplets should reach the cylinder heads and combustion chambers the water will destroy the oil film. This will lead to increased wear of moving parts as well as substantial reduction of the lifetime of the engine oil. Therefore, it is necessary to dry the gas to avoid condensation in the pipe system and the engine’s gas train and intercooler.

BioGasClean - Biogas - Renewable Energy from Organic Waste Streams

There is increasing focus on protecting the environment and exploiting renewable energy sources. It is now mandatory to treat industrial and agricultural waste streams before discharge. This applies to farms with livestock, food processing plants, breweries, palm oil mils, starch factories, ethanol distilleries, paper mills and municipal sewage treatment plants.
