Global Petroleum Environmental Technologies, LLC (GPET) have developed a patent-pending in-situ/ex-situ chemical treatment technology named ECOSAFE®, an environmentally safe solution that when used with our ECOSAFE® Environmental Management System (EEMS), degrades all hazardous and non-hazadous organics on any contaminated matrix, even pure organic phase. This solution and process degrades these organic compounds by reduction/oxidation, in-situ/ex-situ, and in most cases without the need of excavations nor disposal.

WHAT IS ECOSAFE

The ECOSAFE solution is a natural mixture of plant based extracts and vegetables.   The solution acts with great solvency effect to homogenize and degrade by REDOX the organics in the water phase.  It is 100% biodegradable and safely treats and degrades organics originating from petroleum products, industrial by-products, human waste, animals, and plants to name a few. We can treat any hazardous and non-hazardous organic contaminated matrix, even pure organic phase, no more disposal. We can simmultaneously treat contaminated soil and ground water without any negative impact to the environment as specified in our FDEP permit in Florida to treat in-situ soil and ground water with hazardous and non-hazardous organics.

HOW IT WORKS?

The ECOSAFE solution penetrates into the soil or contaminated matrix emulsifying and degrading organic compounds, degradation by redox, changing the molecular structure of organics by deactivation of the chemical functional groups; hazardous characteristics, coating properties and toxicity.   The process accelerates one or more of the same geochemical dissolution reactions that alters contaminant concentration in water matrix, soil matrix and pure organic phase system such as: desorption, reduction/oxidation, bioavailability and biodegradation.  The targeted organics become homogeneous and water soluble after contact with our ECOSAFE solution.

The end result is a mixture of dissolved oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrates and nitrites.  When treating halogenated organics, the correspondent halogen ion will be present in the water matrix.  The noble aspect of this technology is that all reactions occur in the water phase.  We degrade all hazardous and non-hazardous organics on any contaminated matrix, even pure organic phase without the need of bacterias or enzymes. The Solution treats and degrades by REDOX the organics withoput being endo-thermic or exo-thermic.

Key Benefits:

  • 100% Biodegradable. It is not a derivative from petroleum.
  • Degrades 100% TPH’s and VOC's.
  • Only Treatment permits to treat and degrade PCB in Mexico and Colombia by non-thermal methods.
  • Does not contain bacteria or enzymes.
  • Effective in oceans, superficial waters, and hard water.
  • Harmless to aquatic and marine life.  See:  Manhy studies performed in the US and other countries
  • It’s a non-Hazardous, non-toxic, non-flammable, non-VOC’s, non-explosive product.
  • Avoids volatilization of VOC's and eliminates organic odors.
  • Our technology has been tested by EQB, PR (USA) and at the Rocky Mountain Oilfield Testing Center (RMOTC) , owned and operated by U.S. Department of the Energy (DOE.) Cornare in Colombia, SEMARNAT in MExico DPR and NOSDRA in NIgeria and in Peru
  • The byproducts are completely biodegradable and include soil constituents such as Nitrates, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, and Water.
  • Meets the requirements on Government Environment regulations including; The Water Quality Criteria (WQC) set by the USEPA Fresh and Marine Acute Toxicity Criteria (USEPA, 1986) and Florida's Criteria for Surface Water Quality Classification (FAC, 1993)

Welcome to the home of the ECOSAFE® solution and Environmental Management System. This site is dedicated to the beautification of our planet Earth and the conservation of our natural environmental resources, by new and proven technologies.

Our Missio

Our companies are dedicated to the preservation of the natural environment and the concept voiced above.  To this end, we have conducted research looking for environmental solutions applicable to the protection and restoration of the environment, so that our precious water resources, soils and our ecosystem are maintained for the enjoyment of all mankind and all natural living organisms.

Profile

We have developed a patent-pending in-situ/ex-situ chemical treatment technology namedECOSAFE®, an environmentally safe solution that when used with our ECOSAFE® Environmental Management System (EEMS),  penetrates into the soil and degrades organic compounds in the water phase.  This solution and process degrades these organic compounds by reduction/oxidation,  and enhances and accelerates the bioremediation process, in-situ/ex-situ, and in most cases without the need of excavations.  This new approach combines a chemical treatment (degradation) of the targeted contaminant facilitating the use of the ECOSAFE® solution with bioavailability of the contaminant in the water phase, by the formulation and the biostimulation of the native bacteria.

The novel aspect of this technology is that it has proven how it degrades the targeted organic compound, by means of a reduction-oxidation reaction in the water phase, to; nitrates, oxygen, carbon dioxide and water.  When treating halogenated compounds the corresponding hydrated halogen will be present, example; chlorinated solvents, and HCL will be present as one of the final constituents.

Once the combination of an in-situ chemical treatment is combined with the bioavailability factor and the biostimulation of the native bacteria, the method of delivery to the affected area is achieved, the process accelerates any given traditional bioremediation by also eliminating the traditional bottlenecks in the bioremediation process summarized as follows:

  • Inadequate concentration and distribution of oxygen (air)
  • Inadequate concentration and distribution of water/humidity
  • Inadequate concentration and distribution of nutrients
  • Poor bioavailability of contaminants
  • Poor solubility of contaminants
  • Poor diffusivity of contaminants
  • Poor mobility of microorganisms
  • Poor metabolism of  microorganisms

The formulation and application methodology  we developed,  allows the elimination of each of these bottlenecks and the resulting synergistic effect, by reducing bioremediation times by 30 to 70 percent and the cost of the environmental clean-up project by 15 to 50 percent.  Sometimes,  more significant savings are obtained from being able to continue with the operation of the business, while the remediation is being performed.  (There is no need to shut down active operations of the site being treated.)

Another important aspect of this technology is the simultaneous treatment of the contaminated soil and ground water.  The ECOSAFE®  formulation works on soil, water and organic matrix by using the mechanisms explained above.
