Our Story

Intelex's beginnings are rooted in the aftermath of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy, when the loss of thousands of lives underscored the need for proactive, streamlined environment, health and safety (EHS) management.

Following a gas leak at Union Carbide's Indian pesticide plant in 1984, the company's industrial gasses division developed an EHS management system to ensure such a tragedy would never occur again.

Within a few years the paper-based system became insufficient for the volume of sites and complexity of operations, so the company called upon Intelex founder Ted Grunau to develop the world's first streamlined EHS software.

Then and Now

Fast-forward 18 years, and Intelex has become a global leader in the development of EHS and Quality (EHSQ) software. Every day, Intelex's electronic, web-based systems help businesses around the globe ensure the highest standard of health, safety and environmental conditions for their employees by streamlining and integrating EHSQ data.
