Procal design and manufacture continuous emissions monitors suitable for applications that come under the European Large Combustion Plant and Waste Incineration Directives. These monitors are also used on US EPA approved sites. Certified under MCERTS for the measurement of NO, SO2, CO, CO2, H2O, and providing information as required for compliance with EN14181, Procal can offer systems that integrate oxygen and dust analysers leading to final results that are corrected for oxygen and on a dry basis. This in situ technology has a sample cell which can be flushed with calibration gas for in situ zero and span calibration with certified gases without removal from the process, taking only minutes to complete. Measurements available from other Procal products include: NH3, Cl2, H2S, ClO2, Hg.

Gas Emission Monitoring Systems

Procal exhaust gas analysers and emissions monitoring analyser products are used in a wide range of applications and industries and can be configured to monitor emission and process gas, for both reporting and control requirements. 

The list on the left covers a snapshot of the industries and applications where Procal analysers have been deployed. Ranging from conventional coal fired power plant, heavy industry applications, chemical process monitoring through to marine exhaust gas scrubbing implementations and many more. Each section contains details of the application space, case studies of successful deployments and also details of the analysers that are suitable for the specified application.

Extending the Range of Applications for Gas Analysers. 
Many optional accessories are available for Procal analysers. Depending on the size of duct that the analysis is to be conducted in, various flange mounting options can be specified. Combustion gasses are seldom homogenous, their characteristics will vary in terms of gas flow rate, temperature, humidity and make up depending on how the plant is operating. Additional options are available to complement our emissions analysers. For example, the temperature range of the combustion gas may also require optional heaters and/or coolers to be fitted to the analysers. This allows exhaust emissions to be monitored over a wide range of gas temperatures without significant deterioration in analyser accuracy. Another example is or unique ATEX rated analyser range for monitoring of combustion gasses and other regulated emissions in hazardous areas such as refineries or gas compression facilities. 

A Complete CEM system
Procal analysers can be deployed as single, stand-alone CEMS to fully-integrated, plant-wide monitoring and reporting systems. Additionally theProcal 1000 Analyser Control Unit will accept input from third party sensors such as oxygen, gas flow or combustion gas dust/particulate monitors within the exhaust stack.


Procal - Model 2000 - Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEMS/AMS) Process Analyser

The Procal 2000 is now available with ATEX & IEC approval for use in Hazardous Areas probably making it unique as an in situ device for multi-component measurements. Previously certified under CENELEC, the instrument already has a presence in the Chemical and Refining industries and achieving certification under ATEX & IEC enables Procal to continue serving these markets.

Procal - Model 9000 - Field Calibrator

The Procal 9000 range of portable gas / water vapour blenders are designed to carry out field testing and re-calibration of installed Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) / Automated Measuring Systems (AMS) and Automated Monitoring Systems. The devices have been designed for ease of use in the industrial environment, mounted in a customised backpack to enable safe use when accessing elevated platforms.


Non-Standard Applications

Procal supply analysers to monitor many different applications from small combustion plants to large power stations. Examples include University Boiler Plants, Carbon Black Plants, Thermal Oxidisers and Community Heating Projects.

Nitric Acid Production Emissions Analysis

The Procal 2000 emissions analyser measures Oxides of Nitrogen for process control purposes, typically upstream of the N2O abatement reactor where typical pressures can be as high as 10 barg.  The analyser can be supplied in both in situ and extractive configuration to suit customers’ requirements.
