Employee-owned, with a broad portfolio throughout North America, the Ledcor Group of Companies was founded in 1947 with roots firmly planted in the ‘oil patch.’ Through thoughtful and strategic decision making throughout the decades, Ledcor has become one of the most diversified conglomerates in North America, offering expertise with a professional attitude. Our straight-forward approach has been the foundation of our business and is the reason why clients come back to us over and over.

Our early roots began with William Lede founding Leduc Construction. The historic first project – preparing the access road and well site for Imperial Oil’s famous discovery at Leduc, Alberta – began a legacy of many successful and important projects throughout the last seven decades. William’s mark on Ledcor is evident today in providing the leadership in quality workmanship and personalized service.

Earthmoving services were gradually expanded into heavy civil construction with highways, dams, airstrips, infrastructure, gravel crushing, mass excavations and rock blasting contracts. With the discovery of numerous oil and gas fields in Alberta, the oil and gas industry required the means to transport the product. Ledcor recognized this need and established a pipeline division to meet the demand.

In the early 1980’s , under the direction of William’s sons, David W. Lede (Chairman & CEO) and Cliff Lede (Vice Chairman), the company undertook an extensive strategic review. Ledcor expanded geographically and diversified into the building and industrial sectors. Six construction divisions were created – Commercial Building, Heavy Civil, Industrial, Mining, Pipeline and Telecommunications.

All of our divisions continue to review their processes, provide innovative solutions to assist our clients in the most economical and efficient way, while providing the utmost in quality of customer service.
