Laboratory Solutions
Our laboratory instruments are at the foundation of labs all over the world. Our products improve processes in research and development, drug discovery and quality control. For example, among products we offer laboratory balances, one of the most frequently used instruments in a laboratory. Balances are integral to the research process and are highly accurate instruments with the capability to weigh to one ten-millionth of a gram. The data generated by our instruments can be analyzed and managed in our application-specific software and interfaced with customers’ information systems. The benefits of our solutions include enhanced accuracy, productivity and compliance.
Our broad offering includes analytical and precision balances, pipettes, titrators and thermal analysis systems. Our drug discovery offering includes automated lab reactors, in situ analysis systems and synthesizer tools.
Our industrial solutions are often used by the same customers as our laboratory instruments but are used in manufacturing facilities rather than in the research labs. Our industrial instruments and software optimize operations from receiving to shipping with solutions for production, end-of-line inspection and logistics. Our solutions provide value to customers with improved product quality, accelerated and automated processes, increased efficiency and regulatory compliance. Many of our solutions are integrated directly into our customers’ ERP systems.
Our offering to the industrial market includes industrial scales and terminals; software such as statistical quality control, formulation and batching; metal detectors, checkweighers, x-ray visioning systems; automatic identification, data capture and dimensioning solutions for transportation and logistics; and vehicle weighing solutions.
We offer comprehensive solutions so retailers can effectively manage their fresh foods inventory and support merchandising to maximize efficiency and profitability. Our solutions range from receiving and prepacking to in-store solutions for the self-service department, the deli counter and checkout terminals. Our solutions are networked and collect data on various items, and our software helps our customers with pricing, inventory management, supply chain management and more. Ensuring that fresh foods are available at the right prices also enhances customer satisfaction. Our solutions readily integrate with existing IT infrastructures.
Our retail range includes: prepack and price labeling systems, counter and self-service scales, checkout systems and related software.
Our innovative solutions, combined with our vast global network and industry leadership, make METTLER TOLEDO a strong franchise that stands out from the competition. METTLER TOLEDO is built on a foundation of strengths which gives us important advantages over our competition. These advantages include:

METTLER TOLEDO aims to support customers in their pursuit of sustainable business practices and environmentally compatible processes. Our products help customers to increase productivity, achieve higher yield, lower material usage and create less waste, thereby improving the sustainability of their business.
Our products are precision instruments, frequently used to monitor processes. They contribute to enhancing our customers’ processes and through this to make them more environmentally compatible. This is achieved in particular by reducing the amount of substances and materials used, in addition to managing spill waste and increasing yield. The following are a few specific examples of how we realize these goals:
As is typical for light industry, our manufacturing processes are environmentally unproblematic, which also applies to the large majority of our suppliers. Yet, we maintain our efforts to continuously reduce our impact on the environment. We ensure the quality of our products and prevent waste. Our operations comply with various standards: The main operations have been certified according to the ISO 9000 quality management system, the key sites also according to the ISO 14000 standard for environmental management.
Here are some more examples of our efforts:
Innovation means traditional research and development, but it goes beyond technology and involves all of our employees. METTLER TOLEDO has long been a leader in innovation – not only in products and services, but in the way we think about everything. Innovation is the art of finding answers before the question is asked.
Our Company’s culture centers on innovation. We spend considerably more than our peers on product development. Originally known for weighing technologies, today we are a recognized leader in communications, optics, robotics and other technologies as well as software to integrate these technologies into powerful lab, industrial and retail solutions. We are committed to ensuring our innovations translate into real value for customers like you.
