Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation (OTE Corporation) traces its roots to the founding of its subsidiary, OCEES International, Inc. in 1998. On the Big Island of Hawaii during the 1990s, OTE Corporation’s Chief Science Officer, Dr. Stephen Oney, participated at length in the research and development phase of proving a promising renewable energy technology, Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). Dr. Oney’s successful involvement in the Hawaiian pilot OTEC plant launched him into a major role as a premier ocean engineer in the ensuing commercialization of OTEC.

The current global prominence of OTE Corporation as a leading renewable energy company is clearly reflected in the fact that OTE Corporation personnel had their OTEC power plant designs approved by the Director of Naval Research for the United States Navy for the U.S. Naval facility on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia. Today, OTE Corporation is proud to be at the forefront of bringing clean energy to the world, as well as pure drinking water and fish-farmed food produced as ancillary products at OTEC plants.
