Process Wastewater Technologies LLC was formed in December, 2006 as the residual manufacturer of wastewater and combined sewer overflow (CSO) products when the parent company in the U.S., CDS Technologies, Inc. was sold to CONTECH Construction Products Inc.
PWTech has a rich heritage in the storm water, waste water, CSO, and SSO treatment industry. Our success is based on a high-rate screening technology known as continuous deflective separation (CDS). Developed during the early 1990s, continuous deflective separation rapidly became the number one technology across the country for storm water treatment, and then was adapted to be utilized in the treatment of CSOs as well.
While the CDS Technologies name and the storm water treatment portion of the business was sold in 2006, Process Wastewater Technologies continues to be a leading manufacturer of products for the wastewater and CSO treatment industry. With over $50 million in projects at its start-up, PWTech continues to grow and develop its wastewater and CSO/SSO treatment and sludge thickening and dewatering technologies.
PWTech is the licensee for the United States for the patented Volute technology from Amcon Inc of Yokohama, Japan. The Volute technology is a screw press that can be used in either thickening or dewatering applications. The basis of the technology is the unique 'screen' formed by a cylinder of alternating fixed and moving rings. The moving rings keep the open areas between the rings clean and open to the flow of water without requiring high pressure cleaning sprays.
In 2005 PWTech became a supplier for horizontal raked bar screens for a patented CSO storage, treatment and pump back system that was being used for the first time in Dearborn, MI. This began a relationship with the developer of the Treatment Shaft Technology, Dr. Saad Ghalib and Applied Engineering Technologies Inc., with whom we are now cooperating on bring this technology to market world wide.
In September 2011 PWTech became the licensee for North America for the Water Surface Control Device developed and proven in over 1700 installations in Japan, by The City of Tokyo Municipal Government, Nippon Koei and Tokyo Metropolitan Seweerage Service corporation (TSG). PWTech have branded this product at FloatSepTM for the North American market and offers it along with its other combined sewer products.

Hybrid Biological Nutrient RemovalThe PWTech Hybrid Biological Nutrient Removal (HBNR) process is a widely utilized technology for treating wastewater to a very high standard, particularly when stringent nutrients requirements are in force. Combining the performance advantages of continuous flow aerobic/anoxic reactors and the cost-simplicity benefits of sequencing batch reactors (SBRs), the HBNR process offers dependable and stable performance with minimal operator requirements. ... |

Volute - Sludge ThickenerThe PWTech Volute Thickener is a fully-automated, virtually maintenance-free unit using the 'dewatering drum' design used for the Volute Dewatering Press. The Volute Thickener is perfect for automated sludge wasting from biological processes and thickening prior to storage, digestion, further dewatering, or transport, giving a solids output from 3% to 6%. The unit can be completely automated, uses very little power, and can be run over 30,000 hours ... |
