Tanknology Canada Inc. dedicates its resources to precision testing and evaluation of underground and aboveground storage tank systems throughout Canada. Leaking tanks threaten groundwater quality and create health and other hazards. A Canadian owned company, Tanknology originated as a joint project between a major Canadian oil company and the Federal Government to develop a convenient and inexpensive leak test for storage tanks that was not affected by the limitations of existing technologies. The inventor, Edwin Adams, of Edmonton, Alberta, developed a system which quickly became the industry standard for precision and convenience. Mr. Adams` system is now the most widely-used testing method around the world.

Acoustic Ullage Testing System

The acoustic ullage test is based on sound. A recording of internal sounds are made from within the tank before pressure\vacuum is applied. Then while under pressure\vacuum a second recording is made and compared with the first recording. If a leak is present a difference in sound will be noticed and recorded. This is also confirmed with loss of pressure\vacuum. All drain lines and pump out lines are tested at the same time as the tank. This process is ...

Precision Line Leak Detection

Tanknology Canada's precision line leak testing technology is Underwriter's Laboratories of Canada (ULC) approved. This third party approval indicates that the technology is capable of level one leak detection. The system is used to test product delivery lines associated with storage tank systems. When administered by Tanknology's trained technicians it is the most effective way to detect even very small leaks. The system is based on the simple principle ...

Upstream Services

Tanknology has combined technologies specifically for the Alberta upstream oil industry that enable us to provide conclusive results on the entire tank system in less than thirty minutes. Using the VACUTECT probe to measure for slight changes in the liquid level at the tank bottom, overcomes the major weaknesses of competitor's test systems that rely on sound alone. Our extensive field experience has proven that it is virtually impossible to remove the ...
