TRI/Environmental, Inc. (TRI) is an independent, third party, geosynthetics firm providing geosynthetics testing and research services to the international community. TRI is unaffiliated with any manufacturer or engineering firm, and thus provides non-competitive services to regulators, manufacturer, engineering firms, contractors and installers.
TRI provides laboratory conformance/verification testing as well as performance related studies. In addition to routine index testing in accordance with ASTM, ISO, BS, DIN and GRI test methods, TRI also provides standardized interface friction, permeability, creep and stress-rupture, transmissivity, gradient ratio, UV-resistance, chemical resistance, and accelerated time-temperature creep and stress rupture testing. Unsaturated Soil Services
TRI offers a Salt Water Character Curve(SWCC) package that includes the following data: SaturatedHydraulic Conductivity – ASTM D 2434 or ASTM D 5084 depending on the flow rate ofthe soil. Moisture Content, Bulk Density, and Total Porosity. 5-7 Point Soil Water Characteristic Curve, Wetting or Drying. Curve fitting using both the van Genuchten and Brooks-Corey methods.
Interface Friction Testing Services
TRI's state of the art interface friction laboratory features 14 large scale direct shear boxes. Our loading capacity ranges from 50 to 40000 lb/ft2 (2-1900 kPa). Our in-house manufactured low load shear boxes provide our clients with improved testing and repeatability of interface shear strengths under cap and construction loading conditions (50-1000 lb/ft2, 2-50 kPa).
