MIECF - Its increasing importance to the region

MIECF has been enjoying the special support of the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the People's Republic of China. MIECF is also co-organized by the provincial / regional governments of the 9+2 region of the Pan Pearl River Delta, namely Fujian, Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Hong Kong SAR. Green Public Day

The final day of the event sees activities catered to the general public to enhance their environmental awareness and education amongst the people of Macao. The Green Business Co-operation Day is embedded in the Green Forum. It will feature panel discussions addressing some topical issues. The main theme of the event is “Low Carbon Urban Development”. Faced with rapid urbanization and the threat of climate change it is essential to prepare towards a low carbon future and sustainable development of cities all over the world and particularly in the densely populated Pan-Pearl River Delta with its 450 million people.
