In order for utilities to easily share their experiences and lessons learned, a national, web-based, interactive knowledge base for water infrastructure systems has been designed and developed. It is known as WATERiD (www.waterid.org) and was developed by a Virginia Tech research team. WATERiD is a single-point information center where utilities can find all of the relevant information on condition assessment, renewal engineering, underground infrastructure locating technologies, models and tools, performance, and costs.
This web seminar will demonstrate WATERiD’s usefulness as a one‐stop‐shop for researching technologies or products and how utilities and infrastructure personnel can share their experience and knowledge about techniques, technologies, or products. WATERiD includes primary information about individual renewal technologies' cost and performance, case studies for real-world applications, and a list of vendors, consultants, and contractors available for a particular technology.
