Laboratory Manager (EMEA), Munich, Germany, €70k - €80k
My client is a global manufacturer of high efficiency photovoltaic (PV) products and developer of small and large scale projects. My client operates on an international scale throughout Europe and America in which they have experienced extensive growth and are looking to expand on this success. They are currently looking for a Lab Manager to be based in Munich where you will be responsible for establishing and the day to day activities of the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia) lab.
Position Overview:
My client is looking for an experienced solar scientist with expertise and experience in the testing of solar products i.e cells, wafers ingots and modules. This is an exceptional opportunity to take a pioneering position within an already established global organisation who have an aggressive ambition to be market leaders. They are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who not only has a strong knowledge of the testing of such products but also someone who can manage a team and coordinate all of the day to day activities.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and run a PV lab in Munich
- Conduct certification (IEC) testing.
- Coordinate the procurement, transport etc for the development of the lab
- Establish relationships with local institutions (i.e. ISFH, Fraunhöfer etc)
- Use progressive manufacturing photovoltaic processes to advance the efficiency of products
- Draw reliable conclusions from project data.
- Work as part of an internal team and at times collaborate with external solar organisations.
- Would be reporting directly to the EMEA Senior Technical Manager
Education:
- Educated to MSc or PhD level in materials science, chemical engineering or physics.
Core Requirements:
- Must have 2-4years experience in conducting testing in laboratories
- Must have knowledge of all of the IEC 61216 and IEC 61730 testing procedures
- Have practical, hands on experience in the testing of PV products
- Knowledge and experience with relevant tools, computer software and methodologies
- Data analysis
- Fluent in English and German

Salary:
