ERG has recently been awarded the contracts to design, supply and install 6 odour control systems in Scotland. All are supplied by ERG as part of their odour control framework agreement with Scottish Water.

Totalling £850k, the contracts are through Galliford-Morgan Joint Venture (GMJV) in western Scotland, for sites in Annan and Glasgow (Laighpark, Paisley and Shieldhall). All were awarded in October 2007 and have been delivered on time and in budget, to achieve the Scottish Water commitment to have the systems complete and commissioned by 31st March 2008.

All six systems are enhancements to existing sites and comprise extensive ductwork, duty/standby fans and a dry media filter, and also include the MCC controls and outlet H2S monitoring system. At Annan, ERG also provided a design study to investigate how best to upgrade the existing, underperforming odour control plant.

Olfactometric testing as part of the contract has shown the systems to be exceeding the design requirements, with non-detectable outlet odours at each site (measured using EN-13725) compared to the guarantee value of <500 ouE/m3.
