WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 14, 2012 -- The Institute of Clean Air Companies (ICAC), represented by its Board of Directors, announced today that they are partnering with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Commerce (DOC) to promote the export of clean air technology around the world. This partnership will take advantage of the EPA's science and analysis with the commercial reach of the DOC and the ICAC's technology and equipment to implement air pollution solutions as a means of improving air quality around the globe.

The ICAC is the national trade association of more than one hundred companies that supply air pollution control and monitoring technologies for electric power plants and other large industrial facilities across the United States. Member companies provide technologies for a broad range of air quality challenges, from control of emissions of hazardous and criteria air pollutants, to a range of emissions-measuring technologies from ambient to stack monitoring systems to implement and achieve the environmental standards established by EPA, which are the strictest in the world. ICAC member companies are also at the forefront of global research and development and process development in anticipation of standards for all air pollutants.

EPA's long history of environmental science, analysis, and regulation has inspired innovative environmental solutions in this country that now form the foundation of a globally-competitive environmental technologies sector. The broader international deployment of advanced environmental solutions developed in the U.S. can contribute significantly to environmental protection efforts around the world.

This partnership will make a positive contribution to U.S. environmental technologies exports by offering international governments, facilities operators, and other end-users more comprehensive information on environmental technologies together with the science that demonstrates their need.
