Republican senators look set to make good on their threat to do everything in their power to obstruct the passage of the proposed Boxer-Kerry US climate bill, after a spokesman confirmed that seven Republicans on the Senate`s Environment and Public Works Committee were preparing to boycott meetings this week intended to finalise the draft bill. Copenhagen wrangling leads to downgraded carbon price
The potential impact on low-carbon investments of failing to deliver a meaningful deal at the forthcoming Copenhagen Summit was underlined last week with the news that analyst firm Point Carbon is downgrading its long-term price forecasts, primarily as a result of growing uncertainty at the prospects of an international climate change deal being reached.
