More hydrogen cars on EU roads
The European Commission welcomes this week`s support of the European Parliament for its proposal to simplify the approval of hydrogen powered vehicles. This will mark a step forward in the development and marketing of clean and safe hydrogen vehicles. As a result, they will be seen more often on Europe`s streets and the European automotive industry could become more competitive by taking the lead in hydrogen technology. The EP vote is based on a compromise reached with the Member States, which is expected to adopt the package shortly.

DOE announces US$7m to accelerate movement of clean energy technologies
DOE Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy John Mizroch has announced the availability of up to $7 million to accelerate the movement of clean energy technologies from DOE’s world-class national laboratories to the marketplace. The funding will help post-research technologies move toward commercial viability by providing pre-venture capital funding for activities such as prototype development, demonstration projects and market research.
