MEPs and Council Presidency reach deal on renewables directive
After several rounds of informal negotiations, EP negotiators have reached an agreement with the Council`s Presidency on a proposed directive on renewable energies including biofuel targets. The compromise agreed on Tuesday 9th December still needs to be formally endorsed by the full Council and put to a first-reading vote at Parliament`s December plenary session in Strasbourg. New insights on fusion power - MIT
Research carried out at MIT`s Alcator C-Mod fusion reactor may have brought the promise of fusion as a future power source a bit closer to reality, though scientists caution that a practical fusion powerplant is still decades away.
