US considers ethanol blend increase
The United States, the world`s largest ethanol producer, is weighing options to boost domestic use of the controversial fuel, according to the country`s new agriculture administrator. US Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack recommends that a higher percentage of ethanol be blended into gasoline to support the nation`s struggling biofuel industry. UK government carbon rules threaten BT wind farm plans
British Telecom (BT) is rethinking plans for its own GBP 250m wind farm capable of providing a quarter of the company`s power over fears that the government`s labyrinthine subsidy scheme would stop it from using the resulting power to count towards a reduction in its carbon emissions.
