Environment Minister Jane Kennedy quits the UK Government
Environment Minister Jane Kennedy has left her position at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs amid the continuing row over Gordon Brown’s leadership. She has been replaced by Jim Fitzpatrick, MP for Poplar and Canning Town, based in East London. Glasgow-born Fitzpatrick has been MP for Poplar and Canning Town since May 2007. City of Amsterdam become EU`s first `intelligent’ city
The City of Amsterdam has selected Accenture (NYSE: ACN) to help implement its ‘Amsterdam Smart City’ program and create the European Union’s first ‘intelligent city.’ The purpose of the Amsterdam Smart City program is to take a comprehensive and coordinated approach to developing and implementing sustainable and economically viable projects that help the city reduce its carbon footprint and meet the European Union’s 2020 emissions and energy reduction targets.
