Jones Lang LaSalle launches new green building consultancy service
Property services giant Jones Lang LaSalle has launched a new green consultancy service designed to help firms interested in purchasing a property assess the building`s environmental performance and risks.
The company said that the new Pre-Acquisition Sustainability Service (PASS) would build on existing due diligence processes and help firms identify the environmental risks and opportunities associated with a property.

Government saves GBP 7m through its green IT strategy
The government claims it has saved £7m in the past year through its green IT strategy, and cut the carbon footprint of Whitehall technology by 12,000 tonnes – equivalent to taking 5,000 cars off the road.
Cabinet Office minister Angela Smith told the Greening Government ICT conference in London this week that simple initiatives such as extending the lifecycle of PCs, making double-sided printing the default option, and turning computers off at night have contributed to the savings.
