Omaha to play host to 2009 World Environment Day in North America
North American celebrations for World Environment Day, observed annually on 5 June, will centre on Omaha, Nebraska, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) announced this week. UK unveils world`s first carbon budget
Chancellor Alistair Darling has unveiled the world`s first carbon budget, pledging to slash UK emissions 34 per cent on 1990 levels by 2020 and announcing billions of pounds in fresh clean tech investment to help ensure the new target is met.
