Major breakthrough with water desalination system
Concern over access to clean water is no longer just an issue for the developing world, as California faces its worst drought in recorded history. According to state`s Department of Water Resources, supplies in major reservoirs and many groundwater basins are well below average. Court-ordered restrictions on water deliveries have reduced supplies from the two largest water systems, and an outdated statewide water system can`t keep up with population growth.

Water industry is first to try out the new UK climate change projections
The first Projections in Practice conference explained how the UK Climate Projections illustrate the extent of the changes the UK could face if nothing is done to cut greenhouse gas emissions – warmer and wetter winters, hotter and drier summers, increased risk of coastal erosion and more severe weather. The Projections underline the fact that some climate change is inevitable, even if we cut emissions, and that we will have to adapt the way we live and work.
