California to set drinking water level for dangerous chemical hex chrome
Hexavalent chromium (hex chrome), the notorious cancer-causing chemical made famous in the film Erin Brockovich, contaminates drinking water in over 500 California communities, according to environmental and public health experts. Indian arsenic clean-up `working well`
A new chemical-free method to remove arsenic from water is working well in pilot plants in India, scientists report. The method, developed by a team of European and Indian scientists, was tested in six plants set up to supply safe arsenic-free water to Kasimpore village in India`s West Bengal state, one of the most arsenic-contaminated sites in the world.  An estimated 140 million people in Asia are affected by arsenic contamination of groundwater. Diemme to supply Membrane Filter Presses for the AMORAS project!

Diemme has been awarded  by the Joint Venture SeReAnt  to supply Membrane Filter Presses for the project  AMORAS. The project will be a permanent and ecological solution for storage and recycling of dredged material in the port of Antwerp, one of the most important in the world, in order to guarantee sufficient draught to the shipping traffic.

This project consists of different steps (dredging, desanding, dewatering,…). Diemme Filtration will provide the filter presses for the most important mechanical dewatering plant.
This supply, which places itself in the highest contract segment signed by Diemme Filtration (from 10 to 15 Million Euro), consists of 12 Membrane Filter Presses Mod. GHT 2000 4x4, which will dewater up to 600.000 t /y(in terms of dry material)  of the dredged material to form a residue of filter cakes.
