ADB helping China prepare framework for water resources management
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is helping the People’s Republic of China (PRC) prepare a framework for managing the allocation of water resources to meet the needs of a growing population and a rapidly expanding economy. ADB will provide a $500,000 grant for the project from its technical assistance program. The Multi-Donor Trust Fund of the Water Financing Partnership Facility managed by ADB will extend a $250,000 grant. The fund is backed by the governments of Australia, Austria, and Norway. New fund established to improve water and sanitation in Latin America
The government of Spain and the Inter-American Development Bank signed an agreement to cooperate in the execution of the Fund for Cooperation for Water and Sanitation, a Spanish initiative that is expected to provide up to US$1.5 billion in grants to countries in Latin America and the Caribbean over the next four years.  Under the agreement, Spain will set priorities and evaluate the impact of the projects financed by the Fund, while the IDB will identify and prepare specific investments and oversee their implementation and evaluation, in coordination with the recipient governments.
