Vehicle noise control is defined in European Directive 70/157/EEC and Standard ISO 5130. A procedure is given in order to perform noise control at fixed point for cars, trucks, motorbikes... Depending on countries, police or local authorities are in charge of controlling one of the most annoying noise pollution in the city, issuing fines to drivers or simply informing them that their vehicle needs to be compliant with regulatory noise levels.
