VERTEK's Soil Moisture, Resistivity, and Temperature Probe (SMRT) is designed for the variable conditions encountered in agricultural, and geo-technical applications. The Mini-Cone Digital System provides fast, accurate, and easy-to-use real time data acquisition and interfaces easily with many direct push systems and drill rigs. Mini-Cones provide the high resolution tip and sleeve load data of a full-size CPT system, in a light-weight, cost-effective package. The 1.25' SMRT Probe can be used with Vertek's 2010 Mini-DP (shown above) or DataPack 2010 data acquisition systems.
Easy To Use:
VERTEK Mini-Cones greatly simplify field test operations. Friction sleeves, tips, and pore pressure elements are easily replaced during field operations, avoiding unnecessary down time.
VERTEK-cones combine high load capacity with sensitive resolution by sensing the tip and sleeve load cells with an eight-element full strain gauge bridge. This arrangement results in excellent resolution of both tip and sleeve load and accurate temperature compensation assures reliable performance in soft soils. Additionally, the bridge output is amplified, filtered and converted to a digital signal in the Mini-Cone using VERTEK’s down-hole digital system. Digitized tip, sleeve, pore pressure, resistivity, soil moisture, and temperature data are transmitted over a simple 4 wire system, eliminating the need for bulky 10 wire cable.
