The BioPrePlant is a State of The Art and complete pre - treatment system for organic waste. The BPP is designed as a stand alone unit and plant architecture and composition are dimensioned for the processing of 15 000 t/y based on one shift. A downsized version is developed to serve existing plants.
The BioPrePlant is especially designed to process packed organic waste from grocery and restaurant business, food industry and source separated organic waste from households.
Wet organic waste (food waste) is received in intake bin. Vertical feed screws convey the material to the reception shredder and further to the BioSep I separation unit were approximately 80 % of plastic and metal packing are separated from the organic material and conveyed to a separate container. The organic material is being crouched into a max particle size less than 25 mm. Thereafter the material is dropped into an underlying bilge tank*. From the bilge tank the material is pumped into a heat treatment unit (70˚ or 133˚ by choice). The material is thereafter pumped into settle tanks with agitator. From the settle tanks the substrate is pumped into BioSep II were the particle size is reduced to less than 4 mm and remaining parts of plastic and metal are removed. The finished material – substrate is pumped into outside storages tanks.
Capacity 15 000 y/t dependent on waste composition. Estimated capacity is based on waste from grocery and restaurant business, food industry and source separated organic waste from households. Calculated capacity, supposed 240 working days and 8 hour running time is equal to an average capacity of 7, 8 t/hrs or approx 63 t/day.
Thermal energy usage: By 133˚ C 235 kWh based on average temperature rise from 10˚ C to 133˚ C with retention time 20 min. By 70˚ 70 C kWh based on average temperature rise from 10˚ C to 70˚ C with 1 hour retention time.
kWh usage: 32 kWh
