The mill rolls are powered by 2 electrical motors 180kW and 90kW. The separate motors and gearboxes allow full control of the friction ration 1:12 – 1:50 which is adjustable - also during processing.

Using the dual drive concept, the POWER GENERATES back into the motor controls. This ensures that the Cracker Mill 36” dual drive has a considerably low power consumption compared with traditional grinding equipment.

To ensure long life for the bearings, these are lubricated by means of PLC-controlled grease pumps serving each bronze burnished bearing.

The electrical cabinets and controls are designed, developed and built »in house« by ELDAN. The control and soft touch panel show:

• Overall mill speed
• Amps
• Bearing temperature
