The Dri-Belt™ sludge press has been designed for the continuous filtration of large volumes of sludge in a wide variety of industries. It constitutes a cost-effective solution to a wide range of liquid / solid separation applications.
The Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies' Dri-Belt consolidates sludges into a considerably reduced volume, to minimise sludge quantities to give minimal handling and transportation.
The Dri-Belt employs two, finely-woven porous belts, through which liquid drains from the flocculated feed sludge. This thickened sludge then passes between the two belts and is compressed between rollers of decreasing diameter to give greater dewatering pressure and a dry handleable cake.
As standard, the system is configured with two belts, however for more dilute sludges, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies offer a pre-thickening drum which increases the volumetric capability of the Dri-Belt Press. The drum increases efficiency, minimises polymer consumption and provides more operational stability with variable feed sludges, and can also be used in its own right to produce a thickened sludge.
Additionally, the unit is compact and is contained for odour management.
VWS can provide various scope options from machine only through to a complete turnkey package.
