Grundfos - Model SEV and SE1 - Wastewater Pumps

The new SEV and SE1 pumps are inspired examples of sophisticated technology. With performance every bit as sleek and smooth as their attractive design, the SE pumps will handle demanding liquids with ease. And their cooling system is the very epitome of cool. Available with motors from 1.1 to 11 kW and a choice of single-channel or SuperVortex impellers, these pumps will make you see water management in a whole new light.

Sewage pumps that go anywhere …

Application areas and performance
Grundfos SEV/SE1 pumps are ideal for small and medium-sized drainage, effluent and sewage applications. SE1 pumps are fitted with a single-channel impeller that maximises pump performance. SEV pumps are fitted with SuperVortex impellers, making them excellent at solids handling.

Flow up to 80 l/s, head up to 44 mm, and free passage up to 100 mm.

Main customer benefits

  • Liquid-less motor cooling
  • Water-proof cable connection
  • Double mechanical shaft seal

The Grundfos SEV and SE1 pumps feature advanced technology inside out. In spite of their good looks, these highly efficient pumps are designed for years of trouble-free operation in the toughest environments. Easy to install and easy to service, the SEV and SE1 pumps ensure low long-term operation costs.

  • Watertight cable connection
  • Short motor shaft
  • Liquid-less motor cooling
  • Double mechaninical shaft seal
  • Replaceable wear ring
  • Stainless steel motor jacket
  • Heavy-duty ball bearings
  • Stainless steel clamp

Modular design

  • Each motor size fits several pump sizes with channel-impeller or SuperVortex hydraulics

The patented Grundfos SmartSeal, mounted on the guide claw, provides a leak-proof connection, which optimises the efficiency of the pump system and keeps running cost at a minimum.

Eliminate Well-Known Risk Factors With SE Pumps
The SE pumps were specially developed to eliminate familiar problem areas with conventional pumps.

We focused on cable entry design, removing the risk of water entering the motor, and on the shaft seal solution, preventing costly replacement manoeuvres by using a strong, easy-to-replace seal that increases performance and minimises downtime.

Very importantly, the SE pumps have a special cooling system without any need for cooling liquid. This allows for continuous operation in partly submerged or dry installations. This is explained in greater detail in the Increase flexibility section.

Increase Flexibility
The special motor cooling means that the SE pumps can be used for both submerged and dry installation. The various installation options are described in greater detail below.

What is more, the modular design makes the motor units fully interchangeable - they fit both channel-impeller and SuperVortex pumps.

The Grundfos range of heavy-duty sewage pumps, SEV and SE1, can be permanently installed by means of an auto-coupling guide-rail system or with a fixed pipe connection, submerged or dry without separate motor cooling arrangements. The pumps are also suitable for free-standing installation, or as portable utility pumps.

Submerged installation on auto-coupling with guide rails
When installed on an auto-coupling system, the pump automatically connects to a base unit fixed to the bottom of the pump pit.

Submerged free-standing installation, or portable use
Fitted with an optional ring stand, the pumps may be installed free standing in a pump pit, or they can be used as portable utility pumps in non-permanent installations.

Vertical dry installation
Due to the efficient liquid-less motor-cooling system, the SEV and SE1 pumps are suitable for dry installation – either vertically or horizontally – to suit specific application arrangements.

Horizontal dry installation
Horizontal dry installation improves the overall efficiency of the system as unnecessary components and bends are avoided. Special mounting brackets are available for horizontal installation.
