The most commonly used organic coagulants consist of two primary families of products both referred to as polyamines. These are POLYDADMAC (or POLYDMDAAC) polymers and EPI-POLYAMINES (or DMA-EPI POLYMERS). They are offered in several different molecular weights and solution concentrations. We also offer both of these chemistries in NSF certified products for drinking water (potable) applications. A third category of cationic coagulant, dicyandiamide (DICY POLYMER) is offered for specific industrial applications. All organic coagulants are 100-per-cent cationic charge materials.
Kemira’s flocculants are high molecular weight water-soluble polymers used in numerous industrial applications. They are available in a wide range of charge type, chemistry (monomers used), charge density, molecular weight and architecture (linear, branched, structured). We produce charge ranges that cover the gamut from one-hundred-percent anionic to non-ionic and to highly cationic. Molecular weights are available up to approximately 10–15 million Daltons. We produce flocculants in emulsion and dry powder forms and offer linear polyacrylamides, copolymers and terpolymers of various cationic and anionic monomer types.
