The strategic design of a supply chain network is a fundamental component for the development of successful tactical and operational plans. The main project topics are: planning of all supply chain activities at optimal cost: facility location, procurement, production, storage and distribution modeling of an unlimited number and type of facilities, shipping lanes between arbitrary facilities, production and warehouse capacities decision support for opening / closing / relocating facilities throughout a time horizon given a limited budget solving large-scale MILP (mixed integer linear problems) with the commercial solver ILOG CPLEX® efficient heuristic procedures to obtain good feasible solutions with reduced computational effort.
