The Lindemann MUB briquetting press reliably processes metal chips and grinding dust into high-density briquettes. With the aid of the Lindemann MUB briquetting press, metal scraps from steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals and metal mixtures become recyclable and can be returned into the material flow. The briquetting press increases waste disposal efficiency. During the pressing process, emulsion and oils are extracted for subsequent recycling. Due to the compact briquettes, melting loss is reduced to a minimum and storage and transport costs are significantly lowered.

The graphic display not only shows all current operating and processing data, but also assists with possible errors by providing additional information. Preparations for pressing.

To achieve the optimal performance of the briquetting press, the metal to be compacted may require preparation. Coarse chips must first be reduced to small pieces. Wide range of applications.

The MUB briquetting press is ideal wherever substantial quantities of metal scraps accumulate in form of chips or grinding dust, with the objective to keep metal yield at maximum and melting loss at minimum level. Steel, aluminum, cast iron, brass, copper and a variety of other types of metal chips can be processed into valuable metal briquettes. The extremely reduced volume and high strength of the briquettes allow significantly improved storage and transport, in contrast to the non-compacted form.

Metal briquettes.

The produced metal briquettes have a very high density and are excellently suited for remelting in Kupol and induction furnaces. Length and density of the briquettes can be influenced by the operator, though they also depend on the feeding density of the chip material, as well as its mechanical properties.

All components of the hydraulic system are specifically designed for heavy-duty industrial application, and are protected accordingly. The extensive experience gained in the field of hydraulic presses for metal scrap compacting is reflected in the excellent durability and sturdiness of all plant parts. To comply with the high demands in the field of metal briquetting, all hydraulic components were carefully thought out, selected and tested. The hydraulic pumps of the briquetting press, as well as the hydraulic tank and electronics connected to it, can be installed separately from the machine. Hence it is possible to establish closed areas for the production of briquettes and generation of hydraulic operating power, which in turn improves the operational safety of both units.

Automatic level monitoring.

An electronic level monitoring of the hydraulic system detects even slight oil losses and issues an immediate report. This in turn ensures better protection of the hydraulic drives and the environment. Downtimes are reduced, and maintenance of hydraulic components is facilitated by early leak detection.

Non-contact position measuring system.

All hydraulic cylinders are equipped with a non-contact position measuring system. In contrast to the proximity switches used in the past, this system features improved accuracy, reduced wear, and contributes greatly to operational safety. The measuring system is installed inside the cylinder to protect it from mechanical damage. Due to the exact measurement of the cylinder position it is possible to reduce the cycle time even more.

Adjustable performance.

The MUB briquetting press processes nearly all types of metal chips, allowing a variety of applications. The tool diameter, and thus the briquette diameter, can be individually adapted to the feed material to achieve a good balance of density, strength and throughput capacity. The double-acting briquette compaction is characteristic for Lindemann MUB briquetting presses.

Friction loss is minimized by means of the double-acting compaction, and briquette density is increased, resulting in improved transfer stability of the briquettes. In addition, the briquette length can be preselected, thus providing even more processing possibilities.

Handling large amounts of scrap.

Due to its high capacity of several tons of briquettes per hour, larger chip quantities can be processed, making the machines particularly suitable for central installation.

Low wear due to perfect design.

The special design of the feeding and dosing system allows filling of the pressing chamber and subsequent compacting at minimum wear. In combination with the drive and control concepts, a short cycle time is provided, which in turn leads to high throughput capacities. In relation to the achieved performance, energy expenditure is low.

Multifunctional display and monitoring system.

A high level of operational safety and improved protection of the hydraulic components are ensured by an integrated oil-level monitoring system. All measuring data and status reports are available on the multi-information terminal, as well as online by connecting to an existing computer network.
