Fixed infrared gas sensor that detects high levels (%) of Ammonia and Carbon Dioxide in industrial applications. The Manning IR-F4 sensor responds to Ammonia (NH3) and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) up to percent levels in ambient air.
The Manning IR-F4 can be used with Honeywell Analyitcs remote Readout/Alarm units that have built-in visual and audible alarms, as well as relay output for ventilation fan activation, central alarm tie-in, etc. The linear 4/20 mA output also can be fed directly into a computer control or PLC system.
Gas detection by the infrared method is based on the principle that most gases absorb infrared energy at a characteristic frequency. Any NH3 in the gas sample cell selectively absorbs energy reaching the detector. This change in energy is detected, amplified and sent to the signal processing portion of the system.
The sensor contains a pulsed infrared source, a gas sample cell, optical filter and a detector, which provides an electronic output that can be converted into gas concentration values.
