Neutral Zone® (patent pending) consists of colloidal buffering solids suspended in water. The solids can be moved through an aquifer by the higher velocities during injection, but become immobile under ambient flow conditions. The retained buffer is designed to maintain a higher pH for months to years.
Neutral Zone™ consists of small micron to sub-micron sized particles of calcium carbonate suspended in water by a proprietary blend of additives. It has a long shelf life and is easily handled in the field. The small par ticles minimize aquifer permeability loss and well screen clogging.
Safe to use
Neutral Zone™ has no anions or cations that would be considered a contaminant, such as sodium or phosphate. The primary ingredients are food-grade. It is not toxic, corrosive, or otherwise hazardous to the environment or to those who ship, handle, or dispose the material.

RNAS rents proportional feed systems for fast, efficient injection of Neutral Zone™ at precise concentrations. Equipment is available for single-well or multi-well injection configurations.
Neutral Zone® contains no hazardous materials that would require an MSDS. To avoid confusion in the event of a spill, RNAS has chosen to produce an MSDS and to register the product with CHEMTREC.
If the material is spilled, care should be taken to avoid discharge into sewers, storm sewers, or surface waters. The material is easily dispersed in water; floating booms and skimmers will likely be ineffective containment and recovery measures. The material may be recovered with absorbent pads or pigs. Disposal will depend on local regulations.
