PS 3000 - Water Level And Temperature Pressure Sensor

The PS 3000 water level and temperature sensor that features a ceramic capacitive transducer for stability and accurate readings. The PS 3000 features an overall accuracy of +/- 0.1% FS and can log approximately 100,000 single channel readings on 2 Mb of on-board memory. The PS 3000 is fully calibrated over all temperature and pressure ranges to provide the most accurate readings available and can log in intervals as fast as every 1 seconds and features both RS 232 and SDI-12 output.

Overview

Overview

The new SMART SERIES II PS3000 Pressure Sensor incorporates a ceramic capacitance transducer and represents the current state of the art depth/level sensor intended for long-term deployment with accurate data collection and on-board data storage.

The PS3000 sensor is constructed from passivated 316 stainless steel or corrosion resistant Delrin. Utilising a new double O-ring design and moulded cable gland - the PS3000 will exhibit trouble free operation throughout the life of the sensor.

The high over range pressure rating and long-term stability of the ceramic sensor make this product suitable for demanding pressure-monitoring applications.

Used in conjunction with a V-notched weir or flume, the PS3000 is able to monitor and record flow levels in numerous applications where other flow meters may not be suitable or are cost prohibitive.

New firmware allows concurrent depth/level logging with rainfall measurement. All software/firmware upgrades can now be performed in the field without the need to return the sensor to the factory. User calibration is achievable via the SmartCom software package. The PS3000 provides complex alarm functionality allowing the user to generate alarms based on up to four conditions occurring on the same or different channels at the same time.

The PS3000 can be powered using external batteries (via the sensor cable) or with Greenspan Analytical's optional lithium battery pack, which can be fitted as an extension to the sensor body, making it a fully self-contained measurement and logging system.

The factory calibration utilises a 36-point procedure guaranteeing that the +/- 0.1%FS accuracy specification is met throughout the pressure range at any temperature within the operational range of the sensor.

Rapid data collection with a data interval selectable down to one second and four user defined schedules, which are able to start and stop each other, ensures maximum data collection during critical events. Subsequently, battery performance is maximised through minimal power consumption.

A large memory capacity (2 Mb) allows the PS3000 to store all data over long periods before being downloaded either locally or remotely by your preferred communications method. Memory wrap is user selectable ensuring that the most recent data is always available. Output from the PS3000 is available in RS232 and SDI-12 formats.

The measurement units are user definable offering greater versatility to a wide range of applications.

To avoid moisture ingress via the vent tube on gauge pressure sensors, a closed vent system is provided which maintains atmospheric pressure within the ceramic capacitance transducer while preventing moisture condensing within the sensor cable.

As an option, the PS3000 can be fitted with a waterproof connector to allow ease of removal and shipping from the field.

The Sensor may be directly connected to a modem for remote communication. Other functionality can be provided via a surface box, which allows Auto-sampler and Rain Gauge connectivity.
