Since Lindemann supplied the first shredder for a plant in England in 1967, this branch of our metal recycling technology has been constantly improved. Now, with approximately two thirds of all solutions installed world-wide, we are the market leader. Our internal training contributes towards the transmission of that knowledge and the integration of new research findings.

Having solved complex requirements in the past protects against expensive errors in the future. With over 750 plants or components installed world-wide, we have gained experience that is of benefit to each of our customers. We take advantage of a network of component suppliers whose products have proven to harmonize excellently with our technology and to meet our high demands. On the other hand, with our know-how, we also contribute towards the planning of other suppliers. Flexibility is one of the main factors in order to optimally execute excellent planning.
The whole is only as good as its weakest part.
A component that does not meet the highest requirements slows down the speed of the whole process. Lindemann is the only company capable of supplying a complete package: Feed equipment, Power Zerdirator, dedusting unit, conveyor belts, and separation technology. These components have been harmonized based on our experience. During commissioning of a plant, series of measurements are performed in situ in order to precisely adjust the entire system. At the same time, setting parameters are stored to separately process different materials.

Our customers know best how a plant runs. We don’t just listen, we implement the information we obtain. We cooperate closely with specialized companies to optimize efficiency and to perfect our know-how. Numerous feedbacks have been incorporated in process optimization and technological improvements. Fragmenting, classifying, sorting. Only with the careful selection of all components according to the cost/benefit ratio and their assembly to achieve perfect interaction, does a shredder plant gain the efficiency to generate maximum profits. Equally important: high availability, because a machine at a standstill doesn’t earn any money. Due to its virtually proverbial manufacturing quality, Lindemann stands for low maintenance frequency and downtimes in the case of repairs.

At Lindemann, today’s generations of shredders are designed so that they are adjustable to different steel and aluminum scrap qualities. If the plant can be adapted to fluctuations in the feedstock, the operator is not dependent on the delivery of a certain type of scrap, but can adjust flexibly to different suppliers.

The shredder is a plant component that is naturally subject to extreme wear. Lindemann counteracts downtimes with intelligent technology and excellent manufacturing quality, which maximizes the fault-free running time and minimizes maintenance work.
Exceptionally positive: To produce high-quality scrap.
Plants planned by Lindemann with a Lindemann shredder as the core and self-designed dedusting components, rely uncompromisingly on quality. The perfectly coordinated interplay between crushing, cleaning and sorting, allows the operator to produce precisely the scrap demanded by the industry. And the lowest downtimes on the market also compensate for poor feedstock with a high degree of pollution.
Environmental protection.
In densely populated industrialized countries, scrapyard operators are subject to diverse restrictions. Lindemann meets the official environmental requirements regarding dust, noise and vibration emissions with additional equipment. We have developed processes for special project requirements which, in fact, make the dedusting unit on shredders superfluous.

The shredder that shows you how efficiently it is running.
The PCS (plant control system) records all important operating data and prepares it graphically for evaluation of the operating efficiency. Last, but not least, with the software, maintenance can be planned far more easily in advance. Optimal filling of the shredder is decisive as far as the production efficiency of the plant is concerned. Lindemann has now developed a system that calculates precisely how the shredder is best to be filled and assists the shredder operator in always utilizing the plant capacity to the optimum.
The rotor that can avoid solid pieces before damage occurs.
“A wise person yields” is an old German proverb and this is just as true for shredders. The hydraulic rotor bearing lock allows the rotor to dodge solid pieces to a certain degree when they threaten to become jammed between the rotor and the bottom of the housing. This reduces rotor damage and, thus, downtimes.
From analysis to the concept.
We analyze the requirements placed on the project and, in close cooperation with the customer, develop specifications that define the concrete basic conditions. Based on this, a plant model is created that includes all the necessary components. Due to our expertise in practice, we can develop the optimum process sequence and the machine configuration needed for this.
From planning to the offer in terms of cost and time.
In the planning phase, we convert the specifications into machine capacities, defined process chains, costs and timings. Due to our global experience, we can also support our customers very effectively in obtaining approvals up to completely taking over parts of those tasks. We cooperate closely with qualified sub-suppliers who, on their part, contribute their experience in specialized fields.
From installation to commissioning.
We take over project management for all the companies involved. From our desks in Düsseldorf and in the group network, we control installation world-wide and coordinate logistics, suppliers, authorities, and personnel. Our engineers are present on site during installation to perform quality assurance. In the field of house construction, this would be termed a turnkey handover. Our customers are provided with professional project management, with a contact person assigned to deal with all matters. This includes responsibility for adherence to the specified deadlines, as well as control of the budget.
From initial optimization to the annual check.
We don’t understand service to merely mean emergency service that is called when something breaks down. At the time of commissioning, our specialists remain on site until the plant components are perfectly tuned to each other and the personnel have been trained to operate the plant. Even after the last Lindemann representative has left your scrapyard, we are close at hand. With teleservice, we can monitor the plant via the internet and intervene if necessary. If problems occur that cannot be solved from a distance, thanks to Metso’s world-wide service network and numerous service centers, the technicians are quickly on the spot.
