This filtration system is designed to compress the wet wastes generated from the wastewater treatment process into a dry filter cake (solids concentration is dependent on the characteristics of the particular sludge), with high pressure filtration/or compaction and ease of operation.
The dry filter cakes are typically discharged to the sludge bin for disposal while the filtrate is conveyed to the sewer or water reuse system with low turbidity.
Note: The decrease in sludge volume reduces the costs of disposal fees significantly. Generally, the filter press pays for itself as a result of these savings in sludge removal.
The skeletal frame is completely fabricated from heavy-duty two-part epoxy coated steel with stainless steel side rail caps. The frame is designed to hold the filter pack together against the pressures developed internally during the filtration process. 100 PSI feed pressure.
Hydraulics - module design, pressurized by an air driven motor to enable automatic closure. Note: Manual hydraulics are available in smaller press sizes.
Manifold - Precoat/Air Blowdown, fully assembled PVC with valves to provide Precoat/Air blowdown options.
Filter components are constructed of polypropylene and are extremely corrosion resistant, virtually eliminating plate breakage.
Filter Plates (general application): High density molded polypropylene recessed, gasketed, 45mm cake thickness.
Filter Media: Installed polypropylene multi-filament. Note: Filter cloths are also available for non-gasketed and gasketed plates.
