How It Works

BOS 100 “traps” contaminants, then treats them with a safe, effective reductive dechlorination process. The specially formulated particles protect groundwater throughout the cleanup cycle, completely neutralizing chlorinated contamination in less time and at less expense. Effective for a variety of chlorinated solvents, BOS 100 reactant quickly brings your property up to regulatory standards and remains active in the subsurface for an extended period of time. How It Works

All Trap & Treat products are mixed with water to form a slurry, which is either injected into the subsurface using traditional direct push technology and pumps or placed directly into source area excavations. We recommend that pumps generating at least 300-500 psi of downward pressure be used.

Safety

All Trap & Treat products are safe and non-toxic...while it's not recommended, you could sprinkle them on your meal and come away unscathed! Though our products are easy to clean off of work surfaces, they will soil clothing and cover skin with a fine black powder. For this reason, RPI recommends that installers wear suits and dust masks made of Tyvek or comparable materials.

Trap & Treat products are just as effective when placed in excavations as they are when injected for plume-wide or specific area treatment because:

Some contractors have created product slurries, spraying the mixture into their excavations with “trash” pumps; others have placed the products into excavations and mixed them in with back hoes.
