Local after-sales service and support teams offer preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure the long-term, efficient operation of installed plant.
The UV-Star® process has been developed and patented by Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies, in conjunction with the Group’s Research Centre, Anjou-Recherche, which is dedicated to improving water and wastewater treatment processes. UV-Star® provides a highly efficient and cost-effective UV disinfection solution, meeting the needs of both municipalities and industries.
As a result of its bacterial destruction efficiency, UV-Star® provides final disinfection for both domestic and industrial effluents, prior to discharge into the natural environment. UV-Star® ensures the protection of coastal zones, lakes, rivers, watersports areas and shellfisheries.
The most powerful UV lamps of the market Final effluent passes through the UV lamp reactor located at the outlet of the plant where pathogens are irradiated with UV. Highly efficient low pressure powerful lamps are the main feature of the UV-Star® system, which is designed to be channel mounted with the lamps parallel to the direction of flow.
Enhanced design The flexible design features of the UV-Star® allow it to comply with the most stringent discharge consent levels. The number of packs, lamp modules and lamps in a reactor can be adjusted according to the water quality, the inlet flow and the required discharge consent levels.
High yield power supply simplifies cabling.
Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies UV-Star® breaks new ground with an innovative scraper design incorporating a single drive unit 1 regardless of the number of modules installed. This has resulted in a reduction of the overall weight of the modules.
Another innovative feature is the use of a basic, sturdy mechanical system 2 , which allows the drive to automatically take independent modules out of service when a problem occurs (e.g. objects jammed between lamps). This facility does not stop the other modules from being cleaned and ensures that treatment continues until the problem can be resolved.
Optimised disinfection Each lamp has a quartz sheath which is regularly cleaned by a scraper to maintain the efficiency of the UV rays. The staggered pack arrangement 3 minimizes headloss, when several reactors are mounted in series. This offset creates turbulence, thereby enhancing mixing and improving treatment.
Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies offers a range of services to guarantee the performance and prolong the life of the units.
Our experts will be of assistance throughout the project, from the choice of the specific system most adapted to the technical and budget requirements through to the installation and maintenance during operation.
In compliance with our Sustainable Development policy, we have created a recycling procedure for the used lamps to enable responsible management of waste and provide environmental safety on site.
