The post-disinfection of wastewater aims at preventing microbes that are harmful for human and animal health from entering the water system. Wastewater discharge can be located close to a raw water intake and recreational and swimming areas. Post-disinfection is used for safeguarding the use of water resources as raw water. It also ensures the safe use of natural waters for recreation and swimming purposes in the future. The PACS system offers a new solution for wastewater post-disinfection that is safe for both nature and humans. Unlike other alternatives, the PACS solution does not cause any undesired effects by reacting with the impurities in the wastewater. Instead, it turns in the purification process into nature’s own substances. It wears itself out while reacting with impurities and thus leaves no residues in the nature. The PACS system is accurately monitored and tailored according to the needs of each customer.
The water system will be at risk if harmful bacteria are released to the water system from a wastewater treatment plant. In addition, legislation is imposing stricter requirements for the post-disinfection of wastewater, since the situation with water resources is worrying on a global scale.

In the post-disinfection of wastewater, the PACS liquid penetrates through the cell membrane of the bacteria or microbes and destroys them from inside. Thus even sunlight cannot activate them later on, which is possible after radiation disinfection.
The PACS system is accurately monitored and tailored according to the needs of each customer. The fully automated measurement and analysis devices ensure the correct and safe dosage.

The PACS system has been designed for various targets of use in water purification. It is a comprehensive system that can be easily integrated in operating water plants. It consists of four elements that are data collection sensors, analyzer, monitoring and feed programme, and the PACS liquid.
The PACS system is scalable for daily flow rates from 10,000 to over 1,000,000 cubic metres and the same technical system is suitable for both large and small plants. The problems and needs are evaluated separately for each plant which enables selecting the most suitable solution.
Prior the installation of the PACS system, data concerning the water quality is collected and the target values for purification are set. The real time measuring device feeds the data concerning the water flows to the control device adjusting the amount of the chemical.
The amount of the PACS liquid fed is based on the target value set for purification. Before the purified water leaves the plant it is analysed in order to ensure that the set targets are met and that the optimal operation of the system is maintained.
The control software adjusts the dosage of the liquid in real time on the basis of the data provided by the analyzers. Information from the measurement points and chemical feed are sent both to the monitoring station of the wastewater treatment plant and the PACS remote monitoring station in order to verify the correct operation of the system.
The PAC–Solution develops technology, which enables boosting water circulation, destroying microbes that are dangerous to health, and creating more sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. The PACS system has been created to fulfil the need for safe, cost-effective, and fast water purification.
John Nurminen Ltd. is a private equity investor and partner in the PAC-Solution that provides a unique wastewater and utility water purification solution and invests in internalization of the company.
The company promotes sustainable development and develops individually tailored and responsible complete solutions for various environmental problems and improves the level of water safety at a global level.
