Ahmed El-Sotouhy is an Industrial Hygienist who has four years of hands-on experience and a Ph.D. degree in Occupational Health and Safety (graduated May 2008). His professional experience and educational backgrounds enriched his on site abilities. He is a member of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. he is well versed in U.S. practices and local laws of the Industrial Hygiene profession. On October 2012, He will be taking the American Industrisal Hygiene Certification Board exam.
He holds a M.Sc. Degree in Environmental Engineering, from the American University in Cairo, 1997. He also hold a B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University in Cairo, 1992.
June 2008, he joined his current position as an Industrial Hygienist at Kansas State University. For the last four years, he is in charge of the campus employees (about 5500 employee and 5000 students) Industrial Hygiene safety. He conducts all kind of industrial exposure assessments related to Industrial Hygiene science field. He updates and upgrades all related Industrial hygiene SOPs or policies. Exposure and ventilation assessments are two of his strong professional areas. He persists on doing regular safety inspections in any work place he joins as a norm for safety quality assurance tool.
His academic coursework, research, and career experiences have given him a comprehensive understanding of USA EPA and OSHA requirements. He is quite competent to handle Industrial Hygiene laboratory and testing analysis. He is proficient in developing and providing safety training for workers at all levels.
He has consultant independent abilities to accomplish complex projects in his job with minimal to no direct supervision.
