Mr. Nathaniel B. Dkhar is currently working with Center for Himalayan Ecology and Water Resources Policy and Management, Water Resources Division. He is also pursuing his PhD from TERI University and has done Masters of Science in Water Resources Management from TERI University and a Bio-technology graduate from North Eastern Hill University. He has been involved in various issues related to water and climate change. He is an integral member of TERI Glacier scientific expeditions, where data for black carbon concentration, glacier mass balance, energy balance, water balance and quality is collected and analysed. He has estimated the changes in glacier ice cover area using toposheets, GIS and GPS survey. He had analysed the positive as well as negative impacts of climate change on aquaculture industry and identifying opportunities towards adaptive sustainable aquaculture in India and Norway. He had worked on climate change impact and generating adaptation strategies focusing on no regret solutions such as sustainable water supply, better agricultural production, resource conservation and protection and augmentation of existing resources. He is a team member for the project funded by Ministry of Environment and Forest, Government of India to develop Environment and Social Management Framework for Ganga Basin. He has worked on optimizing waste water treatment plants and in identifying the global best practices in context of Common Effluent Treatment Plants. He has also worked identifying the impact of sanitation on tourism. He has organised conferences, workshops and forums, developed of content for brochure, website & advertisements and also in revenue generation through sponsorships.
