Presenter Info
Drew Baird - Southeast District Manager of Regenesis
Mr. Baird joined Regenesis after spending five years as a consultant and geologist at an engineering firm in Greenville, South Carolina. His consulting experience primarily involved plume characterization and remediation at industrial facilities impacted by chlorinated solvents. Mr. Baird earned a Master of Science degree in Geology from the University of Alabama. He is responsible for developing low-cost remediation solutions at contaminated sites throughout the Southeastern US using the Regenesis suite of innovative products.
Peter Grant - Division Director of Land Science Technologies (LST):
Mr. Grant is the Division Director of Land Science Technologies (LST), a division of Regenesis, Inc., which is dedicated to providing advanced technologies for sustainable land development. One of LSTs main products is Geo-Seal TM, a composite gas vapor barrier management technology designed to eliminate potential indoor air quality health risks associated with vapor intrusion.
Prior to developing Land Science Technologies, Peter spent over 5 years with CETCO Liquid Boot Company (CLB) as a Technical Sales Manager for the West Coast Division. While at CLB Peter oversaw and managed hundreds of Brownfield development sites where engineering controls were implemented, including single family homes over VOC impacted groundwater plumes and landfill redevelopments. In addition to overseeing the specification development and implementation of the Liquid Boot® Gas Vapor Barrier, Peter also negotiated product approvals with local and regional regulatory agencies, including the Department of Toxic Substances Control, the Regional Water Quality Control Board, and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. Obtaining agency approval for VOC sites would have not been possible without the VOC diffusion testing Peter developed and oversaw in conjunction with the testing laboratory.

Co-Sponsors
Land Science Technologies (LST)™ is focused on the development and commercialization of technologically advanced and environmentally sound technologies for sustainable development.. A focal point of LST is the area of Brownfields which offers many opportunities for systematic technology research, development and deployment. LST is dedicated to providing the engineering, environmental and real estate industries with proven, cost-effective and leading edge solutions. LST is a division of Regenesis, Inc., a global leader in groundwater and soil remediation technologies since 1994.
Geo-Seal™, from Land Science Technologies is an asdvanced gas vapor management technology designed for use on Brownfields or any type of environmentally impaired site, i.e. manufacturing facilities, dry cleaners, gasoline service stations, landfills, etc. Geo-Seal is placed between the foundation of the building and the soil pad to eliminate vapor exposure pathways and stop contaminated vapors from permeating through the slab. Vapor management systems incorporating both Geo-Seal vapor barrier and Vapor-Vent ventilation provide industry leading sub-foundation vapor mitigation technology. By deploying these systems developers ensure a healthy indoor environment while reducing the cost of site remediation and expediting site construction.
The Advantages of Geo-Seal Include:
- Advanced Vapor Intrusion Protection
- Triple-Layer System
- Dual Chemical Resistant Layers
- Spray Applied Core Layer
- Field Proven
- High Puncture Resistance
- Certified Application Network
Microbial Insights, Inc. (MI) is an environmental biotechnology company specializing in the development and application of molecular biological tools (MBTs) that aid our clients in understanding and managing biological processes ranging from bioremediation of chlorinated solvents and petroleum hydrocarbons to biofilm formation. Since 1992, MI has become a leader in the application of molecular (non-culture based) approaches emphasizing nucleic acid (DNA and RNA) and lipid biomarkers (PLFA) for more effective evaluation of microbial processes than traditional methods. Currently, MI offers a wide range of genetic and chemical diagnostic tools to facilitate intelligent site design and management decisions in the environmental remediation industry.
