Renewable energy has become the hottest issue in Europe and is set to remain so for the next few decades. Its importance is not only environmental but also economic, as well as a matter of energy security. The EU is placing a strong emphasis on the development of renewable energy sources. Member states have an obligation to reach certain targets by 2020. Technological advances also make RE projects more and more feasible.
